This year, the O'Connor Bros, Kieran Healy and myself have been really busy working on a new direction for our band. The music scene in Ireland has changed so much since I came to Kerry in 2007 and we wanted to make sure we keep playing as a five-piece band 'cause it's what we all enjoy the most and what we do best! The result... Truly Diverse! Our new band has really taken off over the last number of months and we're really excited about this new direction. We play a huge range of genres... and I mean everything! As a bit of a country warbler myself, we also play lots of Rock/pop and trad with Anthony on electric fiddle. We've played great gigs over the last couple of years mainly in Kerry, Cork, Clare, Dublin and Limerick area and the boys haven't ruled out another wee trip up north (I'm always telling them about the great country scene up home and how people love to JIVE!). Molly Darcy's Summer Show

This summer, Helena joins with the lads to play Molly Darcy's as part of their summer Irish Nights. So far, the nights have been outstanding, with huge crowds from all over the world and electrifying atmosphere! Help me Make it Through the Night (Free Download)

Helena recently recorded a solo acoustic version of Kris Kristofferson's Help me Make it Through the Night, an all time fav country song. This song first appeared in Kristofferson's 1970 album and remains one of the biggest country songs to date. He said that Frank Sinatra was the biggest influence behind this song; when asked in a magazine interview what he believed in, Sinatra replied "Booze, Broads, or a Bible.... whatever helps me make it through the night." Over the years this song has been recorded by many greats from Elvis to Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette. You can listen to Helena's stripped back version and receive your free download here

Helena sings in brand new summer show

This summer, Helena joins with her band Onóra to sing in a brand new show 'Town and Country'. This show, which will initially run on Sunday evenings 7.30 - 9.30pm in the Earl of Desmond Tralee, promises to be an exciting Irish music and dance show featuring the Kerry Dances Ireland dance troup (www.facebook.com/kerrydances.ireland), alongside Anthony O Connor (fiddle), Kieran Healy (guitar), Brendan O Connor (keys, whistles and accordion).
